The Independence High School football team began fall practice this week in preparation for the 2018 season. The Knights will compete in Class 5A Division I District 5, along with Frisco schools Centennial, Heritage, Liberty, Lone Star and Wakeland. The other two members of 5-5A Division I will be The Colony and Little Elm.

Independence will open the season on Friday., Aug. 31, against Richardson Pearce High School. The game will be at 7:30 p.m. at Eagle-Mustang Stadium in Richardson.
