Congratulations to the Wakeland boys and Independence girls on their District 10-5A swimming and diving titles Friday at the Bruce Eubanks Natatorium.

The Wakeland boys, who a year ago were the Class 5A state runner-up, piled up 151 points to win. They were followed by Memorial (86), which finished second in its first year with a senior class, and Reedy (82).

The Independence girls earned their first district title by finishing with 88.5 points, just ahead of Reedy (82) and Liberty (78).

Frisco ISD swimmers who qualified for regionals will compete again in the UIL 5A Region III Meet at the Eubanks Natatorium on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1. The UIL State Meet in Austin is February 14-15.
